Let's be honest. If Thanos was smart, none of what happened in this book would have happened. He has the reality gem. He could've destroyed Earth in a milasecond. But no, he just wants to impress death. What a player.
The Infinity Gauntlet is a book that came out in 1991. It was the biggest event of the year and one of the biggest events in Marvel history. It was written by Jim Starlin, and the artists were George Perez and Ron Lim.
The story starts with Thanos and Mephisto planning on how to impress Mistress Death. Thanos decides to do it by completeing a task she gave him, destroying half of the universe. He does so with the Infinity Gems. He does so and destroys most of the X-Men, Daredevil, and Fantastic Four.
The surviving heroes band together to avenge their friends deaths. They have Adam Warlock to lead them to battle. The heroes except for Warlock and the Silver Surfer go to Thanos to attack. Warlock and the Surfer go to the best of the Universal Cosmic Entities. They plan their attack.
Thanos kicks the heroes asses, and he is going to win, until Eternity comes and they fight. Thanos beats Eternity and becomes the new Eternity. He leaves his old body and the Infinity Guantlet. Thanos' granddaughter, Nebula, takes the gauntlet.
Nebula makes everything the way it was. The fallen heroes are alive, and Thanos seems to have commit suicide. Adam Warlock takes the burden of the Infinity Gauntlet, and finds a vulnerable Thanos. He is a farmer on a planet, and lets him live.
This was such a fun event. Even though there is the HUGE plot hole of why doesn't he just use the reality gem to stop them, it is still good. It makes me think more about the Marvel Universe and who is out there. I give this a BUY IT!!!
