Very sad day for MARVEL Studios. Today, it has been confirmed that Haley Atwell (who played Peggy Carter in Captain America The First Avenger) will not be returning for Captain America The Winter Soilder. It is very sad, but it does make sense. The second Captain America movie will take place after The Avengers, which is 70 years after The First Avenger. So the character would be a very old woman in that time. Now, just because Haley Atwell won't be in the movie, does not mean her character won't be. They will probably get an old woman too play the character in the second movie.
Now that Ms. Atwell has left, Marvel Studios has to find another woman to play their new love interest. The rumors are that Anna Kendrick (50/50), Felicity Jones (Like Crazy), Alison Brie (Community), and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim) are in the running too play the love intrest.
