THE INCREDIBLE HULK A written review by Justified Julius Part 2 of the Assemble Review

HULK SMASH ANG LEE MOVIE!!! HULK LIKE REBOOT!!! Well… Hulk wasn’t the only one who did. We all liked this movie better than that OTHER Hulk movie. Hulk-poodles? REALLY!? Anyway, this is a pretty good way to get into the Hulk.  If you thought the Hulk was an uninteresting character and was stupid, you should watch this movie. Also…. It’s really awesome to watch the Hulk destroy!!!

The Incredible Hulk, a reboot, sequel? No one really knows what Marvel was doing with this movie at the time, so people just said that it was a reboot. As far as a reboot goes, it is good. Yes, a movie about a giant green monster was good. Frankenstein is looking at this movie and saying “Damn man. I wish I could get a movie like yours.”

Our story isn’t an origin of the Hulk but instead, what happens after he becomes the monster. Bruce Banner (played by Edward Norton), a gamma radiation scientist, experiments on himself to crack the secret of the super-solider formula, a formula that was used on Captain America in WW2. The experiment goes horribly wrong and turns him into the goliath we all know and love.

Bruce Banner is in hiding, trying to look for a cure, and not turn into the Hulk. General “Thunderbolt” Ross (played by William Hurt) finds out where he is and sends a black opps team to get him. The team of soldiers are led by Emile Blonsky (played by Tim Roth), a badass soldier, that gets to keep his beard, because he is a badass. When the soldiers corner him, the Hulk is unleashed in a pretty nerve racking scene.

Banner then, continues to run and has to find a cure. He goes to his old love, Betty Ross (played by a TERRIBLE Liv Tyler) to help. They are then in New York, trying to keep a low profile. Meanwhile, Blonsky takes a sample of the same formula that Banner took and becomes… THE ABOMINATION!!!!!!!!

The final fight happens, and it is freaking awesome! That last 20 minute fight is amazing to watch on the big screen. The CGI in the fight is really cool, and it’s how you would imagine how the Hulk would fight the Abomination in a movie. Even though they don’t do motion capture with their special effects, it’s still cool.

The acting, except for Liv Tyler, is pretty good. Edward Norton is a good Bruce Banner. He would’ve been great in The Avengers, but sh!t happened. Norton really knew how to use this character and make him relatable. Tim Roth is a good villain, although his motivations are a little unclear. When he is getting the super-soldier formula and smiling like an evil person, you don’t know why.

William Hurt is ok. Nothing is there for the character to keep him going through the movie, other than capturing the Hulk. They should’ve gone a little more into his character, because for most of the movie, he is the main antagonist. Liv Tyler SUCKED IN THIS MOVIE!!!

The overall movie is basically The Fugitive but with the Hulk. It is done well, but there are problems, like……. *COUGH* (Liv Tyler) *COUGH*. Other than those small problems, it’s a Full Price! Enjoy and replace Liv Tyler with a grilled cheese sandwich, because that’s the level of her "acting” ability.
