THOR REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Short though..... Part 4 of the Assemble Review

Thor the God of Thunder! This movie is nothing new when it comes to the story. The only reason it gets a pass is because it's based off the Journey into Mystery comics from the 60's. The plot is that Thor, Prince of Asgaurd is an ignorant fool that does somthing so pig headed that makes his home unsafe. He then is banished by the King of Asgard (also his father) Odin. The problem with that little thing right there is that the audience doesn't feel the danger. Most of the movie you're on Earth with Thor not on Asgard where the trouble is. When Thor is on Earth it is a simple fish out of water story.

Thor's brither Loki is the villain of the film. His goal is to take over Asgard and destroy a whole planet. Though his plan is evil, he is a very sympathetic character. The problem with that is he isn't sympathetic enough. He just wants to be equal with Thor, but we never saw him be lower than his big brother. There should have been more sympathetic seen's with hiim in it.

The characters  on Earth aren't very interesting. They are played by Natalie Portman, Stellan Sarsgaurd, Kat Dennings, and Clark Gregg. You just don't really care about who they are or what they do. You'll find more interesting people sleeping in a gutter. At least there you'd want to know how they got to that point. None of that here.

The action is not enough. There are only 4 big action scenes in the whole movie. The first on Jotenhiem, the second on Earth, the third on Earth again, and the final forth on Asgard. The first fight is fun and exciting, which is because of where they are and how they'll escape. The second is also exciting but leads to a little sadness. The third is mostley the Destroyer blowing up stuff and THEN a minuite action scene. The forth is an epic battle between brothers that is actually very beautiful to watch. Beautiful meaning the scenery of course.

This movie really made people stop laughing at Thor. It made him into an actual superhero and got people to look into him. Even pop culture, surprisingly. When this movie announced years ago, you would have never guessed that Thor would be as popular to day as he was before. And they made the costumes look not so ridiculous.

Overall this was a cool movie. Keneth Branauge (the Shakespear guy) knew what to do with this property. He isn't back for Thor 2, but Marvel was smart and got the director of Game of Thrones to direct Thor's new adventure. This is a Full Price!

MESSAGE FROM JUSTIFIED JULIUS!!!!!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY CASTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like Guardians of the Galaxy has found their Gamora. It was recently reported that Zoe Saldana has been cast for the leading lady in the upcoming sci-fi adventure. This is not the first sci-fi based movie she has been in. She has been in the 2009 film "Star Trek" and the upcoming film "Star Trek into Darkness." I thought she was good as Uhura and did a little more with the role. I don't know anything about the character Gamora (which I will quickly change), but I know that Salanda is a good actress.

What do you think? Do you think she'll do a good job? Comment or share the story.

THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS REVIEW!!!!!

This is what I like to call a "PARAGRAPH REVIEW." A short review basically.

This movie is nothing special. It is seriously cliche and isn't exciting. The action scenes aren't special and very boring. The blood is also very CGI looking. If you looked at the blood in this movie, you'd be cutting yourself to see more realistic blood. The acting in this movie is as good as the effects. As in they both aren't good. Russle Crowe is the biggest disapointment. He is usually great, but in this he sucks. RZA is not a good actor or director. This is a WHY!!??!??!

ANTMAN FOOTAGE!!! ANTMAN FOOTAGE!!! ANT! MAN! FOOTAGE!!!!!!! WATCH RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!

BRYAN SINGER SPEAKS ABOUT X3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like Bryan Singer (director of X-men, and X2) had something to say about X-men the Last Stand. Enjoy the words.

X-Men 3 was a strange situation for me. I didn’t have anything to do with X-Men 3 or Wolverine except for the actor. I don’t think Brett [Ratner] knows this but I was so emotionally charged up about seeing X-Men 3 that someone who wasn’t supposed to took me into a building in the middle of the night and showed me it long before it was finished, on a computer, just so I could see it, understand what it is and not be freaked out when I went to the theater to go see it.
[Eventually] I went to the Chinese theater because I wanted to see it in a big theater and they let me in, I had a baseball cap on, I hid in the back but suddenly, Brett Ratner shows up. He was like “Bryan!” and suddenly the audience [all see me] and Brett Ratner talking and I’m stood there sipping my soda out of a Superman cup.
There are parts of X-Men 3… it isn’t what I would have done, but parts of it, I liked. Ellen Page was something I liked in X-Men 3 and I’m bringing her to Days of Future Past. Certain things are different. There was a lot going on in it and I wasn’t so happy with so many people dying, but then there were some really sweet moments with that kid, the cure kid.
I said I’ll “fix a few things” [with Days of Future Past]. It won’t be its primary function but there will be some fixing. It’s a really cool story, and incidentally, it facilitates all of these characters. They weren’t just thrown in there. And they all play a fun role. I want there to be some humor and some fun. In Days of Future Past there are some genuinely things in it. I can’t wait, and I know they will be fun to shoot. I want to keep that humor [because] the thing about X-Men is that the themes are serious, but the film doesn’t need to be…

AGE OF ULTRON BOOK 2 REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Age of Ultron #2 is a fine book. It isn't as beautiful as the first book, but it is close. The strongest part of this book is also the most interseting. The story for this whole event was written 2 years ago. It was delayed for quite a while. Alot of things will not make sense. Like, Beast not being in his most recent form, Spider-Man not being Octavius. So.... yeah.

The story starts out in a destroyed San Fransisco, where Black Widow and Moon Knight are survieing in one of Nick Fury's secret places. Black Widow's face is completley messed up. They are talking about how this could've happened and that they have no problem with dyeing, but they need to take that damn robot with them.

The next panal is in New York. The heroes are questioning Peter (not Octopus) about what happend with him during this madness. He says that he slept through it but when he woke up, he saw only terrible things. He dresses up in his costume and swings to the disaster. He see's a dark figure with a cape and then blacks out. Peter says that they have to do something. Captain America stands up and says that they couldn't do anything, because they didn't have a plan, until now.

Overall, this was a good comic. The art was very nice and colorful. The fact that this was written before MARVEL NOW is very interesting. If it was released at the time it was supposed to, the Marvel Universe would be alot different NOW. I give this a Matine! Enjoy.

THOR #3 REVIEW!!!!

So this comic is nothing very special. It's just Thor going to New Orleans looking over the aftermath of the sunami. He is thinking about how he didn't stop this, but to be fair, he was dead. Tony Stark meets him and basically says "You're with the government or not." Thor says no, and the get into a "fight." Thor kicks Iron Mans ass and he says that he is neutral at the moment. Thor then summons Heimdal to come home to Asgard.
This was an ok comic. The fight was not exciting at all and  very boring. I must give it a RENTAL!

THOR 2 TRAILER!!!!!!!

'Thor: The Dark World' trailer will arrive with 'Iron Man 3'
YAY! The movie is set to come out November of this year!

AGE OF ULTRON BOOK 1 REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a late review and the second issue is coming out tomorrow, so... yeah. When I got this book, I was very excited. I was looking all over the comic store for it and then found out it was at the cashiers table. The comic itself was beautiful. Marvel really put some care into this issue. The comic was glossy and had shine. They made the illustrations literally come out at you. I loved it.

The story was set in New York Today, even though that the comics that lead up to Age of Ultron haven't even come out yet. The city is destroyed and the people of New York are living in ruins. Hawkeye is infiltrating a shack owned by the Hammerhead. It is revealed that he is rescuing Spider-Man. A squad of Ultron sentry's come and blow up the house, but the two heroes escape. They are in central park and meet up with a bunch of other heroes. They are living in ruins and are scared. Captain America feels useless.

This was a good intro into the big event. You can just tell that this event will change the Marvel Universe forever. I give it a FULL PRICE!  What do you think??!?!?! Comment!

AMAZING SPIDER MAN 2 NEWS!!!!!

Looks like we have our Green Goblin! It was confirmed yesterday that Chris Cooper was cast as Norman Osborne aka the Green Goblin. Hopefuly the people making the movie will not bring the acctual Goblin into the movie. That movie has a bunch of villains in it already! It'll have the Spider Man 3 problem. You may ask though "But, how will Gwen die??? The Green Goblin, kills her you know!!!" Well, we aren't sure she acctually dies in this movie. She might die by something other than the Goblin. Maybe Rhino runs her over, maybe Electro fries her. It doesn't need to be the Goblin!

MY IDEA FOR A CROSSOVER!!!!

Star Trek and Lord of the Rings crossover... now here me out....The Enterprise could come on the planet "Middle Earth" which is thousands of years behind civilization and this is the first time the federation has come to this planet. Checkov and Sulu goes with Frodo and Sam. Kirk and Spock goes with Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas. Scotty is with (the Hugo Weaving character, forgot his name..) and helps make the sword that is given to Aragorn. Uhura goes with Aragorns ditzy girlfriend and they both meet up with the girl who killed "The Witch King" at the battle of Rohan. Now the reason the crew of the Enterprise don't use their tech. because they think it would be to much meddleing. Gandalf knows because... well, he's a wizard. When the war is over Gandalf sends the crew back to their ship and they continue their exploration of the galaxy.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK A written review by Justified Julius Part 2 of the Assemble Review

HULK SMASH ANG LEE MOVIE!!! HULK LIKE REBOOT!!! Well… Hulk wasn’t the only one who did. We all liked this movie better than that OTHER Hulk movie. Hulk-poodles? REALLY!? Anyway, this is a pretty good way to get into the Hulk.  If you thought the Hulk was an uninteresting character and was stupid, you should watch this movie. Also…. It’s really awesome to watch the Hulk destroy!!!

The Incredible Hulk, a reboot, sequel? No one really knows what Marvel was doing with this movie at the time, so people just said that it was a reboot. As far as a reboot goes, it is good. Yes, a movie about a giant green monster was good. Frankenstein is looking at this movie and saying “Damn man. I wish I could get a movie like yours.”

Our story isn’t an origin of the Hulk but instead, what happens after he becomes the monster. Bruce Banner (played by Edward Norton), a gamma radiation scientist, experiments on himself to crack the secret of the super-solider formula, a formula that was used on Captain America in WW2. The experiment goes horribly wrong and turns him into the goliath we all know and love.

Bruce Banner is in hiding, trying to look for a cure, and not turn into the Hulk. General “Thunderbolt” Ross (played by William Hurt) finds out where he is and sends a black opps team to get him. The team of soldiers are led by Emile Blonsky (played by Tim Roth), a badass soldier, that gets to keep his beard, because he is a badass. When the soldiers corner him, the Hulk is unleashed in a pretty nerve racking scene.

Banner then, continues to run and has to find a cure. He goes to his old love, Betty Ross (played by a TERRIBLE Liv Tyler) to help. They are then in New York, trying to keep a low profile. Meanwhile, Blonsky takes a sample of the same formula that Banner took and becomes… THE ABOMINATION!!!!!!!!

The final fight happens, and it is freaking awesome! That last 20 minute fight is amazing to watch on the big screen. The CGI in the fight is really cool, and it’s how you would imagine how the Hulk would fight the Abomination in a movie. Even though they don’t do motion capture with their special effects, it’s still cool.

The acting, except for Liv Tyler, is pretty good. Edward Norton is a good Bruce Banner. He would’ve been great in The Avengers, but sh!t happened. Norton really knew how to use this character and make him relatable. Tim Roth is a good villain, although his motivations are a little unclear. When he is getting the super-soldier formula and smiling like an evil person, you don’t know why.

William Hurt is ok. Nothing is there for the character to keep him going through the movie, other than capturing the Hulk. They should’ve gone a little more into his character, because for most of the movie, he is the main antagonist. Liv Tyler SUCKED IN THIS MOVIE!!!

The overall movie is basically The Fugitive but with the Hulk. It is done well, but there are problems, like……. *COUGH* (Liv Tyler) *COUGH*. Other than those small problems, it’s a Full Price! Enjoy and replace Liv Tyler with a grilled cheese sandwich, because that’s the level of her "acting” ability.

MARVEL EVENT NEWS!!!!!!

Look's like we know what the "UNTITLED MARVREL COSMIC EVENT" is. It was revealed yesterday, that the event is called "INFINITEY" and the main villain is Thanos. I wonder what he will use for his weapon? Could it be the Infinity Gauntlet? Nah! It's probabley the Mandarin's 10 Rings. This event will bring The Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Inhumans, and Guardians of the Galaxy together! So.... it'll be a pretty important event. I will try to keep up with the event as much as I can. I will try to review the issue's if I have the time. The event will debut on May 4th, 2013, the month Iron Man 3 comes out. Enjoy!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY NEWS!!!!!

I never understand casting, becasuse Chris Pratt (from Parks and Recreation) has just been cast for Star Lord, for the upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy. I am very interested in how he will play this role. I have onley seen him in Parks and Recreation, and he is in it as the comedy relief. I am not saying this is a terrible desicion, I haven't seen him in the movie yet. I will crticize his performance when the movie comes out if he sucks, or I will praise his performance  if he is really good. We'll all just have to wait until 2014. What are your thoughts? IRON MAN A written review by Justified Julius Part 1 of the Assemble Review

Has he lost his mind? Can he see or is he blind? Well Robert Downey Jr. in the past hasn’t been able to see account of the uh…. drinking. Let’s just say that for a while Rob Downey Jr. was Tony Stark for a while. This is the first movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is done very well and totally believable. People said “How is this comic book going to translate into a film, and more importantly, how are they going to make the suit?” when Marvel announced that they were actually making an Iron Man movie. When you watch this movie, you are totally going to believe it and want an Iron Man suit, or at least a billion dollars.

The movie starts with a great opening scene. You get a feeling about what Tony Stark is all about. He is a smug arrogant guy, and these characteristics don’t really change after the events that make him Iron Man. They made a pretty risky move setting the opening events in Afghanistan. The original country Tony went to was Vietnam, for the war was happening at the time the character was created. Since we don’t have any problems with Vietnam now, and we kind of do with Afghanistan….. it was a clever nod to the original storyline.

The chemistry Tony has with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltroh) is very charming and interesting. Pepper is the only person (besides Rhodey) that Tony has as a friend. On one hand you can say “How could this nice girl like this rich jerk?” In the scenes they share together you can see that it isn’t a perfect relationship, but they get through it. It is always there, and we wish we had those relationships with our loved ones.

Most of the special effects look like they belonged in the Iron Man Video Game for the PS3. The flying sequences looked good. In some parts they looked great, but when you see Iron Man come out of a cave and he looks like a cartoon….. it isn’t doing great! The CGI team should have spent more time working on making it look better. When Iron Man is being chased by Air Force Jets, it looks really good. The CGI is great in that scene, and the scene itself is really exciting. It is more exciting to watch a 10 minute flying chase scene, instead of an 8 minute boring boss fight, which we will get into later!

The audience is lead to believe that a certain character is the main antagonist. When he is actually going to do something, he is taken out of the movie, and we are introduced to the real villain, even though it was pretty obvious that was him. He’s bald and his job was taken from him by a rich brat, of course he’s the bad guy!

Jeff Bridges as Iron Monger, the real villain of this movie is nothing to think twice about. His motivation is clear. He wants to kill Stark and get his job back as head of the company.  He isn’t written very well, but Bridge’s does a good job with what is given to him. He doesn’t have much character to him, but the character that was there was serviceable.

Of course Terrance Howard was only in this movie of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe.) It is STILL unclear why he wasn’t in the sequel, but he was a better Rhodey. He has funny lines, and you will like the character instantly, and yes, we all wanted to see Terrance Howard in an Iron Man suit. His exact line when he saw the Mark 2 suit was “Next time baby.” Guess not. THANKS A LOT DON CHEADLE!!!

When you see final fights, you are expecting something fantastic and epic! With this…. NO! YOU DON’T GET THAT! Venom got more of a fight in Spider-Man 3, and that sucked! This fight isn’t exciting, fun, or entertaining. It is disrespectful to the character and the audience. Screw that fight!

Anyway, the movie is still good, despite the problems. It was a good way to introduce people to The Avengers. It was fun, stylish, and awesome. Full Price! Enjoy!

XMEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST NEWS!!!!!!

We all know that after The Wolverine hits theaters, 20th Century Fox will be starting production on the next X-Men movie, X-Men Days of Future Past. Bryan Singer (the director) has confirmed (via Twitter) that Anna Paquin (Rouge), Ellen Page (Kitty Pride aka Shadowcat), and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman)  would be in the movie. Kitty Pride is an important piece of the original Days of Future Past storyline, and it would be a shame not to have her in the movie. I just want to see some Sentinals and Nightcrawler. THE HOBBIT

THEY’RE TAKING THE HOBBIT’S TO ISENGAURD!!!! Not really. They’re on their way to Erebor. In fact it’s twelve dwarves, a wizard, and a hobbit on their way. The Hobbit, the prequel to the epic trilogy, of THE LORD OF THE RINGS! This movie has been waited and anticipated for a long time, almost ten years, probably more. When MGM announced The Hobbit, everyone said “AWESOME! So, it’s three Lord of the Rings movies, then one Hobbit movie! That is cool!” Well… not just one… THREE! This movie is based off the classic book, written by J.R.R Tolkien. There are many differences from this book and the movie. This is a spoiler review! This review will reveal crucial points and differences from the book and film. So, if you’re one of those guys who say things like “Let me read ahead, I hope there aren’t any spoilers.” you enter at your own risk. *SPOLIERS AHEAD!* The movie starts with Bilbo Baggins on his 111th birthday. He decides to write a book about his past adventures. We then go back 60 years, to a 50 year old Bilbo Baggins (played by Martin Freeman). He is approached by the wizard himself, Gandalf the Grey (played by Sir Ian McKellen). The wizard tricks him into having a dinner party where 12 dwarves come too eat and plan. The dwarves reveal that they are planning to take back their kingdom of Erebor from Smaug the Terrible Dragon. Bilbo wants no part at first, but then warms up to the idea of a dragon burning him into a pile of ash. They are on their way to the Lonely Mountains through the wild but are captured by 3 trolls with intent to eat them. Bilbo tricks the trolls into waiting until dawn to eat the dwarves. Gandalf then, reveals the sun light to the trolls who turn too stone. The company searches a nearby Troll’s cave and find some treasures. Thorin and Gandalf take two swords made by the Elves. Gandalf gives Bilbo a short sword named Sting. While they are on their way, they are encountered by Radagast the Brown. Radagast tells Gandalf that he has encountered a dark evil and that they should be cautious. They are attacked by Wargs and Orcs but escape. They find themselves in Rivendale the Home of the Elves. Gandalf meets with his council of “FAN SERVICE” and tells them about this evil. The Dwarves leave Rivendale without Gandalf and head to the Misty Mountains. While on their journey it is revealed why Thorin hates the Elves so. When Erebor was attacked by Smaug and Orcs the Elves turned their backs on the Dwarves. The Orcs were lead by the Pale Orc a foe of Thorin. At the end of the battle the Dwarves retreated, and Smaug won the kingdom. While the Dwarves and Hobbit are crossing the Lonely Mountains there is a Stone Giant Battle which forces them to go into the mountain itself. While there they are attacked and taken by goblins to their leader, The Great Goblin. Bilbo manages to slip away but then falls into a pit with another goblin. He wakes up seeing the goblin being taken away by the creature Gollum. He follows them discreetly but then finds a mysterious ring. When Gollum finds Bilbo he has plans to eat him. Bilbo then offers to have a game of riddles with the creature. If Bilbo wins Gollum shows him the way out, if not well..... Hobbit is on the menu. When Bilbo wins the game, Gollum realizes that he lost his ring and that Bilbo took it. Bilbo runs away and puts on the ring, realizing that it grants him invisibility. He considers killing Gollum, but instead leaves him with pity. While Bilbo was missing the Dwarves found out that The Pale Orc was alive and looking for them. The Dwarves escaped with the help of Gandalf. When Bilbo caught up to them they were chased by The Pale Orc and climbed up into some trees. The tree’s were coming down, and Thorin decided to confront The Pale Orc. He was defeated, but was helped by Bilbo. When everything seemed it was over, the Eagles came and saved them. When they are safe, Thorin tells Bilbo that he is brave and a friend. They look into the distance at the kingdom where Smaug awakens. THE REVIEW ITSELF There were problems in this movie yes, but those problems do not make any less exciting. This movie has some fun action scenes, but like the other Lord of the Rings movies most of it is walking from point A to point B. That at times can be boring. The cinematography is almost as good as it was in Lord of the Rings. It was a nice reminder of how much more beautiful New Zealand is than here. The Pale Orc storyline is.... stupid. That didn’t need to be in the movie, it went off course, and if they took it out of the movie the whole book of The Hobbit could have been one movie. They don’t even do anything special or new with it, it is just a revenge story. Yeah, who cares if Thorin chopped off your hand, just show the actual story. This movie showed how much it needed to remind the audience to watch Lord of the Rings again. The scene where Radagast encounters evil that is a Ringwraith. For those who don’t know what those are, they are evil soldiers that were tasked by Sauron to get the One Ring from Frodo, in The Lord of the Rings. If they stuck to the book, they wouldn’t need too reference that, because the story holds itself on its own. Damn it Sauron. The dwarves of this movie are Kili, Fili, Oin, Gloin, Dwarlin, Barlin, Bifo, Bofo, Bombur, Dory, Nory, Ory, and the leader Thorin Oakenshield. Lot of dwarves isn’t there? Well....most of them aren’t handled well. Peter Jackson made a joke saying “The reason I didn’t want to make a Hobbit movie was because of the 12 dwarves.” Well... now it makes sense, because YOU HANDELED THEM BADLEY!!! Get Joss Wehdon to handle the dwarves in this movie. That would work. The end of the movie is kind of upsetting. That dragon might as well of held up a sign that said “You Won’t See Me In A Whole Year Suckers!” WOW. With all the problems, it still was fun to watch. People were booing when it was over, because they wanted to see more. It still is good but not really great. It isn’t as good as the book, but if it wasn’t called THE HOBBIT, it would be better. That is why this is a Matine! Oh, and WHY IS THIS GOING TO BE THREE MOVIES!????!?!?!?!!?!??! I give that alone a WHY!???!? Rating System FULL PRICE! MATINE! RENTAL! WHY!?!?

THE AGE OF ULTRON IS NIGH!!!!

The Age of Ultron is basically the human apocalypse. The book will be set in the present where Ultron has won the Earth. This looks as if it is the end of heroes and hope. The pictures that have been released say that Ultron is at the top of his game. He is back for revenge. This new armor looks insane. He probably has a trick up his sleave for all the heroes in this new armor. It looks BAD. ASS. I alwayes wanted to see a Terminator type of thing in the Marvel Universe Events. What do you think? Comment Below!

SKYFALL A written review by Justified Julius

Skyfall is a crazy name. It sounds like Chicken Little got a hold of this movie. James Bond has his 23rd adventure in 50 years and people think that this is the one. The BIG one. The messiah of 007 films. Was it though? That depends on the audience’s taste in movies, like it always has, and always will. Though Skyfall isn’t one of the best movies in recorded history, it will always be remembered by the fans. There are problems, but then again what film doesn’t? The difference between this and some other movies is that this can live through the problems that show up, thanks to the acting and the direction. Although, when there is a problem that affects the story, it can really affect it. For example, when a character is introduced and is established as the main antagonist, you need to give him a clear motivation and back story, so he can be even more effective than he was. The antagonist needs to be developed as a character, or you get a villain that doesn’t make sense. Speaking of which, the actors do a good job at making you feel the emotional impact that these characters are going through. It’s easy to feel the pressure and panic the people are dealing with. Some characters are just too fabulous to be bad on the screen. The main message is that Bond is getting old, also that time is going too fast for him, and though it was only brought up around two times in the movie. There wasn’t much of a point to that. They made him intentionally look old in some parts, which looked like makeup. For all the good fight scenes there are, you don’t see the final battle between the antagonist and protagonist. Silva, the bad guy, was supposed to be Bond’s equal. When it comes to firearms he is, but you don’t know if he is at fighting. Maybe he Silva was too busy fixing his hair style instead of learning how to fight. The CGI at times can be bad. One of the first explosions there are, looks terrible. It looks as unrealistic as Sylvester Stalone’s plastic surgery. The green screens are not convincing at all, they look like the special effects in the Star Wars prequels. Crappy CGI, there is. Hmmmm. With all the problems there, the cinematography is beautiful. The director, Sam Mendes, really knows how to point a camera. These shots are so good, you feel like you are at the location. From the beautiful setting of London, to the epic scenery of Scotland, it was amazing. In the end, birds fly, skies fall, and this was a good movie. It wasn’t great; but a fun time. If you’re a fan of the 007 movies, you are probably going to like this. It’s a matine. Enjoy. (Borrowed Rating System) FULL PRICE! MATINE! RENTAL! WHY!?!?!?

THE AVENGERS A written review by Justified Julius

YES! It is finally here! The Avengers has finally hit the screen! After everyone saying “That’s never going to happen!” it happened! I have been with the Marvel Cinematic Universe since their first movie “Iron Man.” All the comic book nerds have been waiting for this movie for five years. How did this movie hold up? It held up amazingly. Some of what makes it amazing is that this has never been done before with any movie franchise. MARVEL Studios brought all these characters from different comics and gave them their own movies. Then they brought them all from their own movies to make one big film. The director Joss Weadon made it work masterfully. When it comes to the storyline, it’s a pretty basic story. Some people will say “Oh well the story is not original, I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO ENJOY MOVIES AGAIN!!!” The movie is based off The Avengers #1 that was published in 1963. It’s like how the Harry Potter films are based off the books. Even with that they expand on it. There is no problem with the story. The synopsis is a bad guy wants to take over the world and superheroes have to stop him. That is all you’ll get because this is a spoiler free review. I found only two problems in the movie. The first one was Captain America’s costume. Everybody looks like they are going to war, but Cap. looks like he’s going to a kid’s birthday party. They should’ve stuck with the costume from his movie. That would have been believable. But in this it looks like his costume is made from the cushion of a chair and he got his mask from the kid’s section of Walmart. The second problem was Hawkeye’s screen time and it turns out I was not the only one who had that problem. The actor Jeremy Renner was not pleased and said “That was not the role I signed up for.” The Cast. The characters are portrayed very well by very talented actors. Chris Evans, as Captain America, really hit it out of the park. He has taken the personality of Steve Rogers and has made something very special. He acted like someone who knew how to take orders and give them, a soldier. Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man is good as he always is. He know’s right where that line is, when he needs to be a drunken, genius, billionare, playboy, philantropist, to a sober hero that needs to get serious when he needs to. He was one of my favorite parts of this movie. Very good. Chris Hemsworth, as, Thor, really knows how to act in a semi-Shakespearean role. A lot of that credit must be handed to Kenneth Branaugh who directed Thor and many other films based off of Shakespear’s work. Hemsworth knows how to get the Shakespear type language and make it not sound ridiculous in the setting he is in. That’s a high praise when a movie reviewer tells an actor he’s good at playing a god. Everyone thought Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk was a bad decision because Edward Norton was great in The Incredible Hulk. Ruffalo does as good a job as Norton but in a different way. Norton’s Bruce Banner was a scientist who was trying to get rid of the monster inside of him. Ruffalo’s Banner was a scared person who accepted the monster inside of him but didn’t want it to get out of it’s cage, which was his mind. Ruffalo was great acting as the Hulk. Yes you read correctly. Mark Ruffalo played the Hulk also. There wasn’t any Lou Ferigno, CGI, double. That was him, they went the same way the people went for Gollum in Lord of The Rings. BEST HULK EVER!!! (Lou Ferigno did do the voice of the Hulk.) Scarllette Johanssen was very impressive with her potrayel of the Black Widow. When she played this character in Iron Man 2 she was just there to look good. In this her character and her origin are explained just enough to keep that spy element in tact. She was good in the role that was presented to her. She was fine and she was FINE! Jeremy Renner is going to be interesting part of this review because he basicaly comes out of no where. He had a small cameo in Thor, but you don’t learn anything about him. All he did in that cameo was point the bow. He didn’t even fire it. This movie has to introduce a whole new character. Hawkeye is not himself in a lot of this movie. In the time you do see Hawkeye as Hawkeye in the movie, you don’t learn about his past except that he and Black Widow have a spy relationship. His action scenes are believable. People have been saying “Well, how is he gonna match with Iron Man and Hulk??? STUPID!!!” If you see the action scene’s with Hawkeye, you are gonna think it’s gonna be a lot cooler having a bow and arrow than having a trash can lid with a star painted on it. Jeremy Renner did a good job playing a character that did not do much. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Or in this case “Ultimate Nick Fury” is a fun character to watch on screen. Even if he doesn’t go into battle with the rest of the Avengers, he does contribute a lot. He brings the team together and leads them to where they need to go. I really liked how he put some of himself into that role. He was better than David Hasslehoff. Joss Weadon was a good pick to direct The Avengers because he knows how to deal with a movie with a huge cast and he’s a nerd. He directed Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Cabin in the Woods and a bunch of other nerdy stuff. Everyone was happy he could make this work. I am excited to see what he is going to do with The Avengers 2, but we aren’t going to see that until May 1, 2015. Until then, enjoy the movies leading up to it which are: Iron Man 3, Thor The Dark World, Captain America The Winter Soilder, Ant-Man, and The Guardians of the Galaxy. Enjoy. This movie is a very fun, spectacular film, that deserves all the praise it recived. If you’re going to watch it pay Full Price, it’s really worth it. I cannot understand why anyone would not like this movie. SPOILER!!!!!! SPIDERMAN WAS AWESOME!!!!!

SPIDER-MAN (2002 SAM RAIMI edition) A written review by Justified Julius

Spider-Man! Where are you coming from Spider-Man? Nobody knows who you are! This is the Web-head people love, talk about, and look up too. He’s one of the greatest superheroes of all time and this is his movie review. Everyone who has heard of Spidey knows how he got his powers: a spider bit him. That’s all they know. This movie is a good story to watch in case you never read the original source material. You’ll know most of what his origin is in the comics. It’s fun and filled with information. When it comes to acting and casting decisions, most of it is well done. Tobey Maguire is the one exception. His Spider-Man is a little too emo and depressing. That isn’t the web slinger everyone knows and loves. Tobey does it well, but he needs to be more upbeat, happy, and funny. The audience doesn’t need to see Spider-Man cry every fifteen minutes. The chemistry is well done with Norman Osborne and the characters that interact with him the most. Before he becomes The Green Goblin, he cares for James Franco’s character and has good moments with Peter Parker. The “threatening” scenes with The Green Goblin are the least intimidating anyone will ever see. The main reason is because the Goblin’s costume looks really silly. It looks like an un-scary robot, not the Goblin fans have come to know and love. The mask for the costume is the worst part. It looks like a plastic Party City mask. The biggest problem with Spider-Man, not only in this movie, but in all three, is that he is not very funny. He barely makes any jokes and when he does, they feel out of character and misplaced for the Spider-Man they set up in the movies. The hero we knew in the comics constantly made jokes when he fought anyone. That aspect of the character is not in the movies as much as it should be. It isn’t the friendly neighborhood wall crawler everybody knows. The CGI never seemed to get better throughout the movies, with the exception of the swinging scenes. Those affects look good on any screen. The scenes when Spider-Man is moving in the air or climbing walls looked like they belonged in the video games for the movies. It was really unconvincing. The score is perfect for Spider-Man. It’s heroic and brave. The composer, Danny Elfman, is familiar with these types of soundtracks. He is very well known for composing the score for the 1981 film Batman. That’s why this was a good fit for Spider-Man, Elfman knows how to put characters in his music. This movie shows why Spider-Man is a hero we can all respect. It shows that he will always be an example for those who are lost and because of those meanings it is a matinee! Spider-Man taught the audience that “With Great film making, Comes a Great movie.” RATING SYSTEM FULL PRICE! MATINEE! RENTAL! WHY!?
